My name is Max Colson and I have a digital camera. I have an entirely self-taught background in documentary photography. I am a little hesitant about calling myself a photojournalist however.
My most recent work concerns the influence that commerce has on photojournalism and what that means for the visual reporter. I am currently producing a video which deals with this topic.
To date I have worked on making photo reports on the UK’s cage fighting and boxing scenes, as well as the underground rap scene in the UK. In February 2010 I won second prize in the London Blog Paper’s front cover photo competition for my street photography, and I am also due to be published in a forthcoming publication by the V&A Museum in London.
